Become a hero. Join CAPE. Change the narrative, Create impact.

CAPE (Character and Pediatric Education) empowers youth to rewrite the future—one story at a time. Through storytelling, creativity, and service, we’re reimagining what children’s books can teach—and how students can lead.

Cape Club Organization

What is CAPE?

CAPE is a student-led nonprofit initiative that creates, publishes, and donates inclusive children’s books.

We challenge outdated messages in traditional stories—replacing them with narratives that celebrate empathy, diversity, and self-worth.

Our books help children explore identity, emotions, and resilience in a way that affirms who they are, not who they should become.

Through storytelling, CAPE supports emotional wellness, literacy, and representation—while  giving students passionate about pediatrics, literature, and multimedia a platform to lead, showcase their work and create impact.

By giving young thinkers a voice and a platform, we strive to create authentic narratives that resonate with all children, fostering empathy and understanding in our communities while empowering students to become storytellers, changemakers, and champions of empathy.

Our Vision and Approach

Unlike classic stories that reward transformation (like The Ugly Duckling or Dumbo), CAPE stories show that kids are already enough.
We write about invisible struggles, identity, and self-love—offering more than just “difference-based” inclusion.
Each book aims to reshape how children see themselves and others from the very start.

Creative Initiatives

Making a Difference

Our projects focus on empowering youth by elevating their voices through creative writing and artistic expression. We aim to provide them with the tools necessary to produce books that can be shared with children worldwide.
